FAQ

What is microblading (3D Hair Strokes)?

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hairstroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the dermis.

How long does the procedure take?

Depending on how many questions you have when you first come in, and exactly the look that you are going for, your first appointment will take approximately 2 hours for the first appointment. This includes the consultation, application of the numbing gels and the actual microblading.
The second appointment will take approximately 45 – 60 minutes. This is for the touch up 4 – 6 weeks after your initial appointment.

Will it hurt?

Microblading method is the gentlest method you will find for implanting semi permanent color into the skin. The sensation is said to be similar to tweezing or threading of your eyebrows. We take every precaution necessary to ensure the application is as pain free as possible. A medical grade anesthetics’ are used for your comfort. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas other clients report no discomfort at all. A combination of 2 anesthetics are used, first a topical numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is introduced once the microblading procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable.

How long will they last?

Microblading can last 12-18 months however it can last longer on some clients. Some factors can change the retention of the proceudre including following the after-care instructions fully and properly. Other factors include sun exposure, skin care routine (exfoliation), age, and brow colour.

Will I need a touch up?

A touch up may or may not be needed. Again, same as the time they will last there are factors such as those listed about that will determine if you need a touch up or not. Touch ups can be done from 4 weeks up until 12 months after the initial appointment.

How long will it take to heal?

You do not have to hide from the world until you are healed. Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in colour, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful colour. Full results will be visible at around the 25th-30th day after the initial appointment.
